Sarah Acker
Sarah has always had a passion for all things outdoors, engaging in activities like hiking, paddle boarding and biking to stay fit and feel good. She found fitness kickboxing in 2017, and it quickly became a new favourite. Kickboxing has not only built so much physical strength, but has also been vital in maintaining her mental wellbeing- after all, what’s better than literally kicking and punching after a bad day? She became a certified fitness kickboxing instructor in 2022, and lives to see her students have fun, gain confidence and push to be the fiercest versions of themselves. Outside of fitness, Sarah is a new sheep farmer and is currently happily busy learning the ropes in all things sheep and wool (taking frequent and cherished breaks at the beach).

Kirk Johnson
Kirk’s path to yoga began in an unexpected place—after an 11-year career in the Canadian Forces. Following his deployment to Afghanistan in 2010, he was diagnosed with PTSD, a turning point that led him to seek healing through yoga and meditation. These practices became more than tools; they were lifelines that helped him reconnect with his body, steady his mind, and find presence in the aftermath of trauma.
While the mind works to move forward, the body often carries what has been left behind. With this understanding, Kirk’s teaching is rooted in compassion, choice, and accessibility. He invites students to meet themselves where they are, to move in ways that feel supportive, and to remember that yoga isn’t about performance or perfection—it’s about presence. As Kirk says, “It’s not about touching your toes; it’s about how you feel on the way down.”
This past summer (2025), Kirk deepened his practice by living at an ashram, where he completed trauma-aware yoga teacher training. His classes offer space for honesty, softness, and courage, reminding us that strength is found not just in resilience, but in vulnerability.

Sam Farcey
My yoga journey began at a health and wellness expo in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I was inspired by Jenny Kierstead's graceful and powerful practice. This spark ignited a passion within me, leading me to pursue my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Breathing Space Yoga Studios, which I completed in 2018. Since then, I've continued to deepen my knowledge and skills through breathwork & yoga workshops, sauna guide training, cold therapy and embracing a healthy lifestyle. My intention is to create nurturing spaces where students can connect with their bodies, minds, and spirits. I'm grateful for every opportunity to share my love of yoga with others and explore the transformative power of movement, breath, and stillness together.

Shelby Rideout
Shelby found yoga in high school over five years ago—and she’s been in love with the practice ever since. What started as a personal outlet quickly became a deeper calling: to share the teachings of yoga with others and to explore the full spectrum of what the practice has to offer. Currently completing her Bachelor’s in Women and Gender Studies at Acadia University, Shelby has spent the last few years bringing movement and mindfulness to the Acadia and Wolfville communities through her work with the Acadia Yoga and Mindfulness Club. She’s now pursuing her 200hr RYT with YogaRenew and plans to deepen her holistic path by moving into massage therapy after graduation. You may recognize her as a friendly face around the studio—Shelby joined our Energy Exchange program over a year ago and has been a steady presence in classes ever since. Her teaching style is calm and grounding, but don’t be fooled—she’ll still guide you through a flow that brings the heat before melting into a restful savasana. Off the mat, Shelby loves to be outside, explore new places, and get creative. She’s also engaged and planning a 2027 wedding! Shelby’s classes are perfect for those seeking to ease their mind and spirit through intentional movement. You’ll leave feeling a little lighter, a little more centered, and a lot more connected. goes here
